Psychology of Addiction

This lecture by Dr. Todd Carran deals with the psychology of addiction and in particular the concept of susceptibility. Statistics say that only about 13-14% of people will develop the disease of addiction. It's not a matter of exposure to addictive substances. The susceptibility is about other factors.

We would also note the significant mention at approximately 34:20 into the lecture about the importance of WORKING THE STEPS (and not just going to meetings) that will empower an addict in a full recovery.

Dr. Todd Carran is based at TheRidgeOhio.com, based just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, which is a full service residential drug & alcohol treatment center.
